DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare journal entries as assigned.
2. Assist in monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements.
3. Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts as assigned.
4. Prepare analysis of accounts as requested.
5. Assist with year-end closings.
6. Prepare account/bank reconciliations as assigned.
7. Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process.
8. Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
9. District Courier two days a week.

EDUCATION AND EXPERINECE:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
2. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
3. 1 to 2 years of experience in accounting in a school district setting.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers and supervisors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILL: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Proficiency with all office software such as Microsoft Outlook and Word. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel a plus. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
