PBIS Coach (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports)

Description:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education, the PBIS Coach will work collaboratively with the building’s principal and staff to develop internal capacity in the implementation of positive behavior supports at the system-level and student-level. This support will be provided in the assigned school for a long-term period of time to allow adequate development of system components and ensure fidelity. Upon reaching defined targets, the position will be moved to another school in need of support.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education, Specialist in school psychology, or Master’s of social work with school social work certificate
  • CPI Certification and Experience
  • Knowledge of and Experience with PBIS, Trauma-Informed Practices, and Restorative Practices

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of school-wide PBIS/MTSS-Behavior and Tier II/III supports 
  • Coach teachers and support staff in the implementation of positive behavior supports and individual behavior plans 
  • Partner with team to de-escalate student behavior 
  • Support staff in the collection and analyzation of behavioral data 
  • Conduct fidelity checks of implementation of supports at building-level and student-level 
  • Develop and support  trauma-informed school-wide practices 
  • Teach and promote the incorporation of restorative practices with students and staff 
  • Participate in bi-weekly problem-solving meetings related to student challenges
