$20.02 - $23.22 hourly with the potential to earn up to $25.00 hourly based on annual step increases / Non-Exempt position / 12-month work year

Oakland Schools is looking for a highly organized team member to provide support to the Materials Center Manager and the Materials Center Work Unit by effectively managing assigned projects and creating/implementing systems and processes to streamline project functions related to the strategic goals of the Materials Center Work Unit, the Special Populations Department, and the organization.


We are seeking a positive, self-motivated team member who is detail-oriented and possesses strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality to provide support to the Materials Center Manager. In addition, you will be responsible for executing various procurement and budget procedures such as purchasing products/materials/equipment, creating purchase orders, reconciling invoices, tracking and receiving orders, coordinating contracts/contractor invoices, developing and monitoring expenditure and revenue accounts, processing travel forms, and generating reports. You will also be responsible for providing coordination of assigned projects, meetings, and professional learning activities; data management; technical assistance support; and problem resolution.


  • High school diploma or general education degree. Associates degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of related experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Access or other database management software.
  • Experience working with Google Forms, Sheets, Docs, Drives, and Hangouts preferred.  
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and manage work pressures and distractions.
  • Good understanding of the jargon and acronyms specific to Special Education.
  • Knowledge of Special Education rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Alternate Format Materials and accommodation options for students with low-incidence disabilities.
