Michigan Virtual is seeking an experienced IT professional with a proven track record of leadership to join our growing organization. Our ideal candidate is experienced and highly qualified in leading high performing IT teams while cultivating a culture of accountability and transparency. The Executive Director of Information Technology will strategize, plan, manage, and direct operational activities related to mission-critical IT systems. The Executive Director will work closely with leaders in other departments to identify, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions. The person is an executive-level employee and in cooperation with other senior leaders advises the corporate Officers on all aspects of the company.
In this role, the Executive Director of IT will lead three teams, including Infrastructure Services, Technology Integrations and Learning Applications to ensure systems meet or exceed the needs of our internal and external customers efficiently and reliably. To be successful, the Executive Director of IT will need to work closely with business unit leaders, acting as a true partner and making IT a business enabler. The ideal candidate will have proven skills in information management systems, IT security, software development, and budgeting, as well as project and risk management. The selected individual will also have excellent cross-functional and communication skills to collaborate with other staff and stakeholders and demonstrate professional relationships and ongoing learning to maintain a current understanding of best practices, emerging issues, and future trends in educational technology.
