STEAM Social Studies/Mathematics Learning Facilitator

Location:  Tecumseh East STEAM Center  -  Immediate Supervisor:  Building Principal


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Current Social Studies (RX)/Mathematics (EX) Michigan teaching certificate (K-8)
  • Experience teaching Social Studies/Mathematics
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of technology
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the academic, social and emotional need of the adolescent learner


General Information/Duties:

  • Create, plan, and teach a rigorous curriculum while meeting the needs of a diverse student population
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate student outcomes through informal and formative assessments
  • Effectively and consistently communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and community
  • Communicate openly, plan and implement consistent programming with other staff members
  • The teacher must be willing to participate actively in the transformation of the delivery of curriculum
  • The teacher will be required to be a team member working with other team members to improve teaching techniques, relations with the community and school environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability is expected in working in the classroom and with other staff
  • The teacher is expected to make a commitment to continuous improvement through training and the use of technology
  • Participate in district-wide professional development when deemed necessary by the district
  • Perform other duties consistent with the scope of the position


Terms of Employment:

Full-time position. All terms per Master Contract between Board of Education and the Tecumseh Education Association/MEA.
